The new Wood Tools Sheffield Carving Axe is the culmination of many years carving experience of Robin & JoJo Wood, and their passion to create the ultimate carving axe working with suppliers local to the workshop in Sheffield, England.
The axe is was designed by Robin and JoJo wood, and takes inspiration and features from many of the carving axes in their collection.
The main forging takes place at the historic Footprint works, the haft is turned from local ash at Carters, and the thick veg tanned leather is sourced from the Chester factory - then it’s all brought together by the team at Wood Tools. The grinding, honing and finishing by Robin and Zach, and the leather work by Tom
They come razor sharp and ready to use.
The ash handles are made to Robin and JoJo’s design, and have a grippy knurled finish and are treated with linseed oil.
The weight of the head is 550g and the total weight 730g, handle length is 11″ (28cm).
Comes complete with UK made heavy duty veg tanned lather sheath (vegan option available), lifetime guarantee card, booklet and Wood Tools all assembled in a gorgeous stamped traditional Sheffield made card box!
